Tennis is not a beauty contest, so whether or not some of you think they're ugly is really irrelevant to the sport so, stop being ignorant. They are talked about because they represent the United States and are the only Americans that always reach way into the tournament as well as Blake and Roddick. As Americans you should always root for you're fellow American, when Vania King, Chandra Rueben, Laura Granville, Mardy Fish, Ginepri, Meghan Shaughnessy,Jill Craybas, Lindsey Davenport, Meilen Tu, and other rising tennis stars perform in the top 10, then the media will talk loud about them too. So, what if Serena braggs, if you don't toot your own horn no one else will, your remarks proves this. I want who ever is representing the U.S. to win, so go Roddick the last American man standing that has a chance.

I'm confused about what control rackets do for you, as opposed to power rackets. I'm assuming control rackets give you better control, but why does anyone need power when they can hit the ball however hard they need? Do you need a power racket or a control racket if you like to hit the ball hard?

Ok so I'm going to do tennis in high school and my question is this. I'd like to play college tennis and I was wondering what you ask colleges that you want to play tennis for. Do you say "Come watch me play" or "I can come up there and show you my stuff" I just want to know,in-depth if possible, how to approach a college about tennis. By the way tell me if you played tennis in college and what it was like. Thanks in advance.

i use a 2 handed back hand but i see that all the players grab it like a baseball bat or have thier hands a little space in between. but when i play i grab the handle with both of my hands together or almost on top of each other, this hasn't cause me any promblems in my game, but i'm wondering if i should keep it this way or try to learn it like most of the pros do it, or the proper way.

I mean if they're playing in the sun for around 1 1/2 hours or more, wouldn't they use it so that they wouldn't get burned?

Does anyone know if they use it or not?

I just got done playing today for about 4 hours starting at 8:30 a.m., and I got seriously burned. Next time I'm gonna use some xD

well i have a huge tennis match coming up that i have been waiting for since last summer. i playu tennis at a tennis center/club and basicly every friday we have match play agianst other tennis clubs. so during that period last summer i developed a friendly rivalry against a player from another club. ive gotten better since then and im sure he has, however ive gained maybe 3-5 punds since then and can get fatigued at times and hes pretty good so im sure hes going to make me run. any good tips on how to ge3t a little more energy or just lose maybe a pound or twobefore our match

this seems like a great racquet but i dont know if i should buy it, im waiting for the Head Microgel Prestige. im probably a 4.0-4.5 player. full swings and i love to hit hard with a lot of spin (western grip). i read reviews on the Flexpoint Prestige and people say that the sweetspot is unforgiving so im hesitating on which racquet. i hear the Microgels feel really nice. people talk about tennis elbow and all that but i have no idea what that is, sounds like a wimpy excuse to being weak to me. i really want a players racquet thats 95 or lower but maybe not 90 since i havent tried 90. should i just wait a couple of months for the Microgel prestige?

Tennis does not require even close to as much athleticism and does not test all your athletic abilites as much as other sports like baketball, baseball, soccer, hockey, gymnastics, american football and rugby. The matches are way to long and really boring because all you are seeing is the same thing over and over again as the players hit a ball back and fourth versus in other sports you can see many different things happen ie in basketball a slam dunk, a jump shot, a cool dribble ect. Also in team sports many things are happening at once but in tennis only one thing happens at a time. You dont get to see really amazing shows of incredible athleticism like a slam dunk or homerun only something anyone can do hit a ball with a racket.

I've tried the tourna grip several times, and it kept on ripping and i've just tried a hydro absorb grip and after a while, it got really slippery and stopped absorbing. is there any grip that you would reccomend that would both last long and allow me a firm grip always?
