Overall results would show that the better and more consistent of the two players is Federer.
Federer is a Swiss clock!
However, at every level I think most people enjoy a game with Rafa in it more because his enthusiasm and drive are so contagious. Even Rafa's critics get passionate, whereas Federer's critics can't get much stronger than "oh I'm so tired of him winning all the time."
When Nadal haters criticize Rafa you can tell they have analysed every last detail about him because the way he plays is really fascinating.
When he is on the court I think the background music should be "can't take my eyes off of you." !!

Off of clay, Nadal still has alot of trouble with mid ranked players. Federer is much more consistent on all surfaces and lost the French to the King of Clay.
Federer is better!

I do not agree. Federer is better on hard and grass courts than Rafael is. Rafael is better on just clay courts. This means that Roger Federer would win 3 out of 4 times against Rafael Nadal. That makes Roger the better player.

Nadal is physically stronger.. ya just can't deny that.. but Federer is like a lil' ballerina whipping about perfecting every stroke..
I would have to say Federer.. even though I'm a huge Nadal fan. Federer is just... wow unbelievable..

Nadal is better than anyone on clay and federer is better than anyone on any other surface! Nadal is improving though!

I totally agree but on clay only but someday Nadal will be the best even on grass

i totally agree with you. nadal does seem more relaxed while on the tennis court, than federer.

no Federer has great shots, Nadal runs more and is quicker
