I would make it a contact sport, as soon as you hit the ball, feel free to tackle your opponent!

-A shorter season and a few less tournaments. These poor players never get any rest and are always a step away from fatigue induced injuries!
- It should be the same for all sets when there is a tie, even the 5th. That 13-11 between Moya and Henman was just prolonging the agony.
-the scoring system doesn't always reflect the best player!! Who is better? Player A who lost 7-6, 0-6, 0-6, 6-4, 7-6 to player B but made 24 points (-6,-6,-6,-6) or Player B who won against A but only made 20 points(7- ,0-, 0-, 6-, 7-)?
I think it should obviously be Player A but with the present scoring system it would be Player B.
- "in" should mean "IN" and not on the line(unless a portion of the ball is actually "in" the designated area)
If a basketball touches the hoop it isn't in!!! It's only "in" if it really is inside the circle described by the hoop.

I love tennis but there are a couple of things that I would change. On the womens tour I would make at least the grand slam events best of five sets just as the men play. I believe the idea of women not being capable of playing five set matches is outdated and probably dates back to a very old and prude image of women and competition. The top players in the women's draw are usually off of the court in an hour or less... if they could not handle longer matches why do so many of the players compete in singles and doubles at the same tournement? Often they will play doubles the same day that they have competed in singles.
On the men's side I would do away with the second serve. You get just one shot to initiate the point.A player would still be free to try and wallop a 140 mph serve right down the T but they would have to realize that if they fault, they lose the point. Sometimes they would still let it rip, and others they would have to temper the speed and focus on location. This would make the men's game much more fun to watch, and really bring vollying, net play, and groudstrokes back into the fold. I am tired of watching all of the guy's out there that just crack a huge serve and either score ace after ace or service winners instead of having to engage their opponent with volleys, groundstrokes, and strategy.
If I could throw in one other thing I would love to do away the practice of letting women grunt and scream as loud as they want when they hit the ball. It is not neccessary and is poor sportsmanship... not to mention a not so subtle way to distract your opponent. I never once have heard Micheal Jordan scream when he released a jump shor, nor have I ever heard Tiger Woods yell out as he tee'd off.. Yeah, there are a few things that I could tweak.

I would make it a rule, that you could only play in two top rated tournaments per year. Also, anyone rated above 10th place, would have to play others in the top ten ranking, or be disqualified for 1 year.
There would be no more of players ranked #2 or #4 playing others who are ranked #35 or #36 , they would have to play the players who are ranked closer to them.
An example of this is when ol' Serena is ranked no. 4 or 5, they give her a opponent who is way down in the rankings, just so that Williams will automatically beat her, and that makes Serena look real good, which she is NOT.
I also think that both Williams sisters should not be allowed to play in the same tournaments.
Those two Williams sisters are ruining the sport of tennis, and people are getting tired of seeing them win all the time.

At the elite pro level, only one tournament per "week" for men and women to bring sanity back into the schedule.
Other tournaments could be held during the year, but prize money must be 50% less than the main tours, which will be a "Class AAA" system for players looking to hit the big show.

Every other sport has cheerleaders.
Why not tennis?
Topless Cheerleaders would be a very nice addition to the game of tennis.

I would outlaw loud grunting like that of Maria Sharapova. How ridiculous. Something should be done about it. All it does is distract the opponent. They should start giving points to the other players until she reduces the loudness of her grunts to an acceptable level (which could be measured with a decibel meter).

I would have ALL men and women tournements as best of 5 sets (First to three) because I hate the womens and some of the mens tournements when it is first to 2 (Best of 3)
