i use a 2 handed back hand but i see that all the players grab it like a baseball bat or have thier hands a little space in between. but when i play i grab the handle with both of my hands together or almost on top of each other, this hasn't cause me any promblems in my game, but i'm wondering if i should keep it this way or try to learn it like most of the pros do it, or the proper way.

Maybe it hasn't caused any problem in your game yet, but i'd recommend to at least try like the pros because you'll certainly find that technique more useful. When you do a two handed backhand, you're supposed to use your second hand (the left one if you're right-handed or vice versa) more than your normal one. It gives you more strength and precision. I think that with the method you use, it can be hard to benefit from those advantages because you don't have a very good control. Good luck!

When using a two handed backhand the best thing to do is find what works for you. What works for someone else doesn't always work for you. The standard two handed backhand would be your dominate hand using a eastern grip with your off hand in a continental grip.

I currently use a two-handed backhand but I'm training my one-handed and you should to. If the ball is up high its hard to get both hands up there. Learn the 1 handed backhand and it will help your game a lot. It helped mine.

It is completely up to you. What ever you feel more comfortable with should be your choice. There are no rules in tennis that say you must hold the racket a certain way. This reminds me of my grip. Im a right hander, but I use a two hand forehand, placing one hand on top of the other. Weird huh. I can also due a one hand forehand, but i have more control when i use both hands. :)

If you get awesome shots with your backhand keep it-but if your backhand sucks then i suggest that you learn to do it another way.

You should have your hands a little seperate and if you're a righty, hold the racquet like a continental grip and your left hand should be flat on the face of the grip. After practicing with it for a whle you will get used to it.

I use either a one hand or 2 hand, but I would not like both my hands on top.

I think 2 hands has more control.

there really isn't a proper way, you just do whats comfortable for you and what works the best, when you need to but at practice try just using one hand, the more you work on it the better you'll get, and you'll get used to it, once you're confident enough that way, do it in a game, but always do what you feel comfortable with it normally turns out better.

You should do it like the pros....1. You may be comfortable now, but it won't be good in the long run....2. Your arm reach isn't as far as it could go....
