Why do some TV announcers say Wimbleton it is WIMBLEDON with a D?

It just depends on the accent and the way they learned to say it. I say Daniela Hantuchova's last name slightly wrong but so do some of the announcers.

It's the same thing when announcers say "Champion"chip" and not "Championship".

I think different accents account for the different pronunciations.
