I have hurt my left shoulder doing freestyle. Ive been to the doctor about it and they are sorta confused because i dont show signs of rotator cup injury. And it aches almost every day. When I swim it hurts from my shoulder down the inside of my left arm in a stinging pain. What could this possible be and what are the best treatments!?

I just got transferred to beach patrol because of an officer injury and it includes two shifts per week of lifeguard duty. I can't even swim! My first shift is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

I have heard quite a few people talk about chemicals that will make a red or purple cloud in the water when someone pees in the pool, is this correct? I have never seen the chemicals myself, only heard of them. Do they exist? Is there a website on the internet that sells them? Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with those LARGE inflatable pools? Have you had problems? Does it cost a lot of $$ to fill? How do you keep the water clean? Do you buy a tarp? Chemicals? TY

I have recently been very comfortable with myself. I used to be fat, practically my whole life. Now when I finally start feeling good about myself, my swim coach makes me squeeze into some constricting bathing suit that doesn't exactly make me feel god about myself.

If you have good advice please share it, but if you have anything harsh to say you obviously have no understanding. be considerate here, I need to do something that will give me a confidence boost.

I was just wondering because I've heard that they do it but I have never seen the water change colour and I have never heard of it happening to anyone.

Favorite stroke?

I want to train myself up for swim team. I mastered every stroke except for...butterfly. My butterfly isn't excellent. You know what I mean? I want to work my butterfly up. I wasn't taught very clearly on how to do the pattern and kick.
When do you do the big dolphin kick? And when do you do the little dolphin kick? How do you prevent yourself from going underwater?...etc etc. I'm so confused.

I'm doing the ASPIRE "Swim the Channel" challenge in my local pool. I'm going to swim the equivalent length of 22 miles, which is 1,408 lengths!! The challenge begins on Sept 11th and thankfully I can do it over a 12 week period. I'm not very fit!

I'm currently in training I have been doing 75 lengths in just under 2 hours. The last time out I got cramp in my leg on the 71st length. Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions?!
