Hey schenzy,

Jez, I hope not. I grew up with a chlorine pool in my backyard, and now am 50. We use to swim 8 hours a day in the summers, over the course of a decade.

Here are some web sites that discuss it more in depth (pun).

- only over a LONG period of time...still wouldn't be damaging enough to concern about. and plus, swimming helps increase your lung capacity.
- chlorine (the smell) can somewhat be potentially something bad for your body of the longterm. The smell usually lingers around the surface of the water, so for intense swimmers, when they get to the surface to get air, overtime it may become something to look at.
- If however you do experience red-eyes, skin irritation etc., notify lifeguards in the pool...this is because the levels of chlorine are not in right order. (not that it's too high)

dyness of the skin. yes that does happen

if u have blond hair it turns it a bit green

hair color gets lighter

if u dont have googles ur eyes will hurt after a long time, depending on how much chlorine is in the pool.

prunny skin? haha thats sick. i think thats the worst next to the eye hurting do to the chlorine. ur eye just becomes sensitive to being open and the light. and afterwards if u clean it out with water.... HURTS like a b.itc...

There can be. It all really depends upon your exposure. Someone doing laps 3times a week, needn't worry at all, whereas someone like me, that was exposed on a daily basis, is at risk for cancer, heart issues, fingernails going soft amongst other things. When I no longer worked full time for a pool company, my skin was a lot healthier and my nails grew properly.
