The pool's swim coach is about to retire after 30 years. He's famous for one thing, paying attention the ones with "potential", and ignoring everyone else.
Ever since I was 8, I went to swimming classes with him, but I never learned to swim because he would only pay attention to the taller boys while he left the rest of us to playing in the pool. I was in swim classes for 3 years, but I never learned to swim. I was too short for him to waste his time on me.
My mom took me to another pool, and on one season this coach taught me to swim, but he left to a better job.
I kept swimming on my own with a lot of discipline. By 17, I was reaching competitive times. It was then the coach who always ignored me asked to join the team. But I said NO.
For 7 years I've been competing independently even against the team from the pool I swim at. Sometimes I've won at a some meets more medald than the rest of the team from pool I swim at combined.

He's retiring, what should I do?

I was really stupid and watched Jaws last night and next weekend I'm going on holiday. I know if I go swimming in the sea, I will constantly be looking behind me for sharks. The place I'm going is America and it is supposed to be around the same place.

Any facts or figures of how unlikely I am to be attacked by a shark or just reasuring words are greatly appriciated!!!

Cheers!!

One of my main concern is will I have to get in the water and get wet? Everything pretty muchly revolves around my acne medication. I hate to get wet in the middle of the day because it wipes off the acne medication on my face. If I do swim I usually prefer to swim in the morning or night so I could shower immediately after because I reapply my medication in the morning and late at night. Or will the course be mainly on land on dry surfaces? Also is there a lot of studying required for this course? I'm taking a ton of classes and don't want this class to take too much of my time.

I love to swim! How much you like to swim?

A good friend of mine (shes 19) wants to learn and she wants someone to just teach her. Have you ever tried teaching someone?

Ummm im not throwing her in the water, its mean. I dont want her to have a traumatizing experience.

My six year old daughter swims in it daily.

It is ten foot by 6 foot and 22 inches deep.

Once a week I drain the water and scrub it with antibacterial soap before rinsing it out and refilling it.

I keep a cover on it when we are not using it.

Still... I think it should be cleaner.

I would appreciate if anyone could help me out with this. I looked at the store where I bought the pool and was overwhelmed with options and methods.

The test kit I have shows YELLOW in various degrees and normal range is mid way on the scale.
I am getting orange color when adding the test agent.
Will this hurt the pool or the people swiming in it?
