The test kit I have shows YELLOW in various degrees and normal range is mid way on the scale.
I am getting orange color when adding the test agent.
Will this hurt the pool or the people swiming in it?

I know a lot about pools and im a nationaly ranked swimmer so listen up on this one. This is bad unless its an outdoor pool but still isn't that good. It can make you cough and feel really bad if you keep it this way why you are in the pool. If it is and indoor pool it can cause serious damage. I was in a swim meet with people from all over the world last year in Germany and the meet had to be stopped because of the amount of chlorine and the toll it was taking on the athletes.

Not unless they swim with their eyes open or have sensitive skin. My grandma uses lots of chlorine in her pool, and I can't tell the difference.

How many ppm is orange? you can leave it for a couple of days and the chlorine will drop naturally, or if you need to use it soon, you can add a chemical that takes out chlorine i think its sodium thiosulphate. or anotehr productive way to drop it a little is to do you backwash now and add smoe more water

it will burn your eyes a little and may shorten length if time you chose to swim but other than that it will just be really clean!
