I was really stupid and watched Jaws last night and next weekend I'm going on holiday. I know if I go swimming in the sea, I will constantly be looking behind me for sharks. The place I'm going is America and it is supposed to be around the same place.

Any facts or figures of how unlikely I am to be attacked by a shark or just reasuring words are greatly appriciated!!!

Cheers!!

It was just a movie with mechanical sharks. Relax.

After that movie, most people had trouble even with taking a bath, let alone going into the sea. It's just a movie. I live in America and shark attacks are very very very rare. They eat fish, not us, and most attacks are simply confusion. The idea of a intelligent, belligerant shark is just a movie idea, so swim and have fun!

Shark attacks are still very rare in all coastal waters compared to the number of bathers, when we used to live in Spain the biggest threat was from the purple jellyfish as they could sting like hell and leave a nasty scar but dont let the film Jaws worry you,If it is unsafe to swim the coast guards and life savers will have notices up and a lot of beaches have shark nets up,but the dangers are so small you have not to worry.
Just enjoy your holiday and bring back good memories....

It's very unlikely that you will get attacked by a shark. I live in Florida and know people that go to the beach almost every weekend during the summer and have never gotten attacked.

if you go into the sea just don't go too far out go to where you can stand up and then you will be fine i don't think there are any sharks around america at this time but i would suggest that you would not go so far out unless on a boat cause the can outrun them and anyway there might be some dolphins and dolphins always help keep people away from sharks and help them to escape

There are also Big Foots in America too, so watch out for them as well. Another thing to be wary of is aliens from other planets. Seems a huge amount of Americans are whisked away or operated on by these creatures from other planets, so make sure you don't go near any bright lights too.

the chances of you gettin attack by a shark is highly unlikly i mean more americans get killed by bears than sharkes and the bear number is very low it is about 4 americans every year that are attack by sharkes and most survive

Use a tampon! only verify the string isn't putting out of your swim journey bottoms, and verify for blood somewhat extra frequently, simply by fact the tampon does take up a number of the pool water. have exciting. :)

don't wear a black bathing suit bottem...and when your swimming stay near shore where there are a lot like more then 10 people...the chances are better of you getting struck by lightning.

I hope this helps.
