Well, I've always been told that the 100 free is essentially a sprint. The pacing would be more like go 97% for the first half and 100% for the second. It's not all that long of an event, so you should be able to essentially sprint the whole time.

I would definitly say to save it for the last 50. If you use it all in the beginning, you will be sooo tired, that you almost wont be able to finish the race. I would suggest going at a pretty fast pace in the beginning, and sprint the last fifty. Well good luck! I hope you do well the next time you swim a 100 free. And I hope this answer helped you.

ideally, it should be a sprint the whole way, but, the last 50 meters would be the better time to expend most of your energy. just don't get too far behind on the first 50!

The 100 meter free requires that you pace yourself, stay with the pack, and sprint the last 25.

you want to be gunning it the whole time not at full sprint but about 70-80 percent. psychologically your brain will tell you to go faster the second. don't save up any energy. alot of times your coaches will say to almost sprint but unless you are a really good swimmer you probably won't be able to. i've swam competitively. since i was six and i still can't get close to sprinting.
i hope this answer was helpful and good luck swimming.

The best method to use is a pacing method, only sprinting at the very last monet,at least the last 15m because there is this thing about a last burst that mentally we can produce

well from my experience, it's more of a build, but pretty much you're sprinting the whole time. just try to keep with the person next to you if they're faster, if not, work on kicking their butt!!

I would save my energy for: 1st 25m burst of energy; 2nd 25m, save energy; 3rd 25m, save energy; 4th 25m, burst of energy.

it depends on your strengths. if you have more power, then build up a lead in the first 50m. if you have better stamina, then push in the last 50m.
