How your question ended up in the swimming section astounds me but its true. Swimming will help your drop weight. I was already in shape and in 10 days I lost 20 pounds when I started swimming at college. Granted I was doing 12,000+ yards a day plus weights and running. I also didn't have the appropriate appetite, 5,000 calories a day I needed to maintain my weight. Swimming burns lots of energy plus just being in the water saps energy from your body 3 times as fast as water and so by just sitting in the water u'd be burning energy.

running is one of the most efficient ways to burn calories and lose weight without dieting.
for every mile you jog you burn at least 100 calories. if you weigh less than 150 pounds abit less. this means it takes about 10mins to run off 100 calories, a rate that leaves other forms of ex to dust.
no need to diet, you just need to keep your calorie intake the same which wont be hard cos the fitter you become with running, the healthier your diet will become.
to boost your calorie burn either increase your mileage or the intensity of your run.
if you dont like running just eat little but lots. make sure you always have breakfast as it speeds up your matabolism. skipping meals doesnt work just makes you bloated and irritable.

Exercise, cut your calories, eat fruits and vegetables (raw), lower your carbs - sugar, eat small meals at least 5 times a day. You better be fat.
You know another way to lose weight that's not really that good, though, well if you really want to know email me. It's for real.
