Tomorrow night is my first swim meet. I'm sorta nervous.. this is my forth season, however. Is there any tips or advice for ways to tweak my stroke to make me faster?
We swim butterfly, backstroke, breastsroke, and freestyle.

Thanks! (Remember those 10 points!)

Ever since I was young, whenever I swam I've had to plug my nose. However, I'm going to be on swimteam next year, so I want to learn to swim without doing this.

I can go under, then unplug my nose, but if I just dive in, the water goes up my nose. What do I do?

What bathing suits are in style for the summer? I want something inexpensive, somewhat modest (without being dorky) , and cute. Thanks everyone!

I've used 4 bags of turbo shock and a gallon of algecide, but it's not working. It seems that the filter isn't filtering out the algae. if I sweep it, it looks like the water coming back into the pool is black! The local pool store doesn't know what the problem is...help!

I've heard many ways to prevent a shark attacks. But my grandfather told me that this one: that when they are about to attack you or move near you in ANY way closer than 10 feet, to be prepared to punch them as hard as possible in their "nose". But that is a once in a mile shot because if you miss you loose your arm and then some.

The coach said I should be able to do 8 "lengths" or four laps or maybe it was the other way around. Right now I can go to each side 3 times. How long do you think it will take for me to be able to do 8 lenghths if I practice every day? Do you have any suggestions?

i have been swimming intense workouts seven days a week for eight years now. The are 3 1/2 hours long. one hour everyday is spent on dryland training (running, jump roping, medicine balls, some ab work) but i still do not have abs. if it were anyone else i would just say work hard, but the problem is that i work so hard that sometimes i throw up. i need something to get the abs of my fellow teammates.
