My husband came home Sunday with some fresh fish (Salmon) in a cooler. Cleaned, cut and in zip locs. Ice. He forgot about it. Today--Wednesday--I opened the cooler. Ice is melted. Cooler's been closed this whole time. Has the fish gone bad? My guess is yes---but I hate to throw away all this fish.

I know my favorite kind is catfish, but I thought I'd ask for some other opinions so I have a few more types of fish I can add to my hitlist. They can be freshwater or saltwater fish. I appreciate any answers given.

Only avid fishermen can understand this question. Which would give you the bigger "rush", catching a 20 inch palimino trout, or sex?

I am fishing offshore on the york and james river in VA. I was wondering when the best time to fish was. I had heard something like when the tide is going out or coming in. Not sure which.

We fish in the ocean and in lakes (more in lakes though). In lakes we found that the bright chartreause powerbait works best. I seldom fish, and the only fish (a bass) I've ever caught I named Entree. In the ocean.... I just got back from my 1st time fishing there, and we used little fish for bait.

I would like to get into fishing with downriggers on Lake Michigan, but have never used downriggers. Can anyone give me a website to look at, or directions on how to hook them to the fishing line? Also, what sorts of lures would be good choices? Serious answers please.

I typically fish (surfcasting, pier fishing) for Stripers and Bluefish using a bottom-feeding rig on the Connecticut shore. I want to start using some lures but there are so many colors to choose from...anyone know where I can find some good info specifically about the coloring of lures?

Please read this explanation:There is a man made pond that was once a nice little fishing spot for baby bass and catfish. Now too many people have seen us fish it and it has become pretty crowded with people who don't respect catch and release. The pond has been holding fish for about two or three years now and the bass have not grown one bit. They are all small enough to grip completely with one hand around the width of them. What factors do you think are making these bass not grow at all? Do you think that there are still a few big ones in there? If so, how would I go about locating those ones since they must be spooked. The place is too small for a large boat really but paddle boats can fit comfortably so depth finders are out of the picture. I don't think there is really alot of structure and cover in the pond either. If there is any good sized ones where would they be holding in a place like this. And if there isnt any, then why? Is there a way I can change this?

I am entering my freshman year of college this fall....and I need a job for next summer. I live in Boston, and I heard that many college students go up to Alaska for the summer to work as deckhands or in some other capacity in the fishing industry. The money is great so I hear. How can I go about applying and consequently obtaining a job as an Alaskan deckhand or a similar job. I would love to go up to Alaska and work in that beautiful state. Anyone and everyone please chime in.
