I accept as true with the 1st guy at right here. 20 lb is going to be the max weight for the combination that your finding for. i've got caught distinctive fish, and various different types, and that i will certainly say that your going to have much less regrets with 20 lb than 10 or 14 lb. it may nevertheless be forged out to the tiers that your going to go with to throw out, and it will delay for the undertaking of catching the pike and bass. As for bait, i visit point you utilize some worms, or some decrease bait.

my go to's for small mouth (especially in rivers) are spinners. for largmouth i use all sorts of stuff with jig and pigs, spinnerbaits and stick baits being the things i use the most. i've caught crappies on crawlers, small leadhead mr twister-type jigs, and small shiner minnows. with pike i usually use a weedless spoon with pork rind, or a big sucker minnow under a bobber
to me all of the above fish taste good. i usually release all of the small mouth i catch, and most of the pike and bass. i still take a few home and fry 'em up now and again. pike is a litte different, because you have to "y bone" it out to get the meat, but fried up pike chunks are outstanding. crappies are delicious i eat all the keepers i catch.
