btw, is floater really that useful, cuz the spinnerbait is so heavy that i can only see a little bit of the floater when. to the question, if this is too short, then how long should it be? cuz i tried to set it to about 3 feet, and i lost my spinnerbait cuz it was stucked in weed. i don't have a boat so i can only fish near shore, and the water level near the shore plus the weed cost me a lot money already. so how long should i set the floater if the bass are hiding deep?

When I was a young whipper-snapper I needed 15 lb's of tackle to go catch a bunch of 2-5LB Bass. Since recently purchasing a new Kayak, I've "down-sized" to 2 small plano "insert" boxes & 1 "over-stuffed" worm bag.

Let's play "Name that Tune" I mean ,"Name that Lure"!

" I can win that tourney with one bag of worms & a 1/4 OZ spinner-bait".....(LOL)

(er....the younger folk won't get my "Name that Tune" reference. So, "younger folk" just lol anyway!)

I like it grilled or fried, but am looking for something new to try.
I know this isn't the cooking section, but I trust fishermen more than I do chefs.

Thanks ahead of time.

In a few weeks I am taking a trip to the Jersey Shore to fish off the surf. I have an Abu Garcia 5500 C3 baitcasting reel that holds up to 12 lb test. Will 10-12 lb test be sufficient? I am going for striped bass (and whatever else bites) by the way. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

I have always used live clams for bait while surf fishing. The prices for claims seem to get steeper every time I go down there. Is it possbile to harvest clams easily somewhere along the Indian River or some other inlet near Satellite Beach? How would I go about doing that? Thanks.

Alright, it just finished pouring here in PA, and I am ready to go out and test my luck.

Will the fish be biting in the high and swift water after a rain?

Will fish bite after a rain, either way?

When fishing the tide for striped bass is it better to start at low tide right before the tide starts to rise,as the tide is rising and shortly into high tide,or after the tide has come in but before it starts to go out? This question is in regards to surf casting and fishing estuaries? Any help is much appreciated
