btw, is floater really that useful, cuz the spinnerbait is so heavy that i can only see a little bit of the floater when. to the question, if this is too short, then how long should it be? cuz i tried to set it to about 3 feet, and i lost my spinnerbait cuz it was stucked in weed. i don't have a boat so i can only fish near shore, and the water level near the shore plus the weed cost me a lot money already. so how long should i set the floater if the bass are hiding deep?

I would not use a float for fishing a spinner bait that takes away all it needed action!
If you are getting hung go to a weedless design!

A spinner bait is not designed to be fished under a float. It is a bait that is designed to be casted and retrieved. If you are using an in-line spinner bait it will not be very weedless. I would go to a "safety pin" style of spinner bait. If casted and retrieved steadily you will find that the majority of the time you will be able to bring it through the weeds. It will never be completely weedless, but it will work well. If the vegetation is too thick you will have to go to a different lure. Try maybe a Texas rigged worm or a fluke type bait like a zoom super fluke rigged Texas style so it's weedless.

The temp of the water determines where the fish are. If you cannot get down there with the floater you are wasting your time. You need to get a weedless spinner where you can get in the deeper water where the fish are and get back through the weeds. Even at that, if you catch a good fish, you may not be able to get back through the weeds.
You may need to get a boat, waders or something to get out past the weeds.

Ivan Dog got it.

If the weeds are THAT bad in your pond, try using a weedless 6-8 " worm rigged Texas style. Or a weedless spoon or "Scum-frog".

Using a float on a spinnerbait. MMMMmmm. People never cease to amaze me. I have to admit, the logic of it is sound! (lol)

the setting is about right for the situation you have

the floater is helpful to keep the spinnerbait floating abit so you dont have to reel in so quickly as if you werent using a floater

thats the big problem with a spinnerbait is they arent that great for shore fishing in shallow water with weeds

might want to try a spoon for those conditions
or a good quality worm

buy a lighter spinner bait all your doing is screwing with the action use the tackle to do the job if you need to keep your spinner bait up top switch to a lighter one around 1/4 ounce with tandem colorado blades to go deeper try getting a 1/2 ounce with willow leaf blades

I would take the bobber of and just reel it in slowly because sometimes a bobber can scare away fish.
