- Proof of Ctitizenship (Birth Certificate, Passport, Voter Registration) Original Only
-Prescription Medications (in original pharmacy containers)
-2 or 3 bait casting or spinning rods and reels---medium to heavy
-20 lb. test line is a minimum (Trilene XT Abrasion Resistant is ideal)
-Rattle Traps 1/2 oz. in chrome/blue, chrome/black, orange/red, and fire tiger
-Spinner Baits--chrome/gold twin blade in white chartreuse, white, chartreuse, black plus any combinations of these colors in 1/2 - 3/4 oz.
-Buzz Baits--chartreuse and white 1/2 - 3/4 oz.
-Worms--6-12” scented if possible in watermelon, watermelon seed, pumkin seed, green pumkin, red shad, tequilla sunrise plus any combinations and other dark colors.
-Lizards--6-12” scented if possible in watermelon, watermelon seed, pumkin seed, green pumkin, red shad, tequilla sunrise plus any combinations and other dark colors.
-Hooks--offset 3/0-4/0 (buy the best you can)
-Weights--5/16 - 1/2 oz. bullet type
-Flukes--white, baby bass and other bait fish colors.
-Sluggos--green, yellow, off white.
-Crankbaits--deep and medium divers, .
-Topwaters--Bomber Long and Fat A, Zara Spooks, torpedo types in chrome and baitfish colors plus fire tiger.
-Shampoo, bath soap, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat or cap, lib balm, bathing suit and sandals, tennis or deck shoes for fishing, sunglasses(polarized), pocket knife, hand towel, small first aid kit, camera and film, tape measure, and a lightweight rainsuit or poncho.

Fish shallow flats before daybreak with large topwater baits (Spooks, Double Buzz buzzbaits, WoodChopper Prop baits) then move to nearest drop-offs and fish large diving plugs (DD22, 20+, etc...) on humps and ledges. Large plastic worms of 10" and more (Bass Assassin, Berkley, etc...) and be sure to take several 3/0-5/0 EWG Superline hooks (Gamakatsu, Owner), 1/2 oz and larger worm weights, a few bags of Strike King 3X Zeros (Senko style baits that last much longer) in white and Junebug colors. Use minimum 20 lb test mono (fluoro and braids should be taken as well) good reels with quality drag system, medium heavy rods, and as the one guy previously mentioned plenty of bug repellant. The "no-see-ums" will eat you otherwise. Suncreen and raingear and a light jacket for those early and late boatruns.
I hope you do well. I have only been to Baccarac, Huites and Dominguez lake in Mexico during Dec. and Jan. Be sure to stay hydrated and watch out for the Margaritas at the lodge. They are very tasty, smooth and lethal.

Have a blast and catch some "Muy Grande Pescado." I almost frogot, be sure to take a Boga Grip or some kind of scale capable of weighing bass up to world record size. You just never know what lurks in the waters of Mexico.

Crank baits, spinner baits, swim baits, and top water. Top water has the added bonus of catching Peacocks also. It's stocked with Florida strain largemouth, so basically just fish them like you would any lake in the southern U.S. 6-8" Swim baits may be a good bet for the hawgs. Be ready to catch 50-100 per day over 3 lb. I'm heading to El Salto in the spring, can't wait.

Kalifornistan is my top choice of course, Baja Mexico, Arkansas, Puget Sound, Missouri, Arizona and Nevada are the only other out of state places I have fished as out of state fees are way too high.

Heavy rods, big lures, heavy line. A lot of mosquito repellant.

Dumb idea, go to Cancun or Vegas. Listen to your friend do something fun.
