i cought a flounder and the hook got stuck in its mouth. i couldnt get it out even with plyers. i had to rip it out now i am realy sad and feel realy bad. my dad cooked it up but i still feel realy bad can someone help me feel better about it?

Accquaintence of ours fishes them on the Atlantic Coast (New York area). Have not the foggiest, ha' neither does he (ya' know the Bud Light six-pack tackle box type fisherman)!? Only thing that comes ta' my mind is tuna!? Am completely "un-native", when it comes ta' that side of the ocean! Pre thanks in order ;)...

Can anyone explain the different reasons behind the law about not transporting live fish? I have a friend who got ticketed by a game warden because a catfish he had caught and he had put in his ice chest was not dead yet. Now, I can understand concerns about introducing unwanted species into another body of water but this fish was on ice! Are there other reasons for the law?

I was at a local lake and he was checking licenses. I had one and showed him but was just lingering around for a few minutes. I casted overhand which I usually do and hooked him right by his chin. I believe that he is pressing charges he took my name, phone number and add down. it was an accident and I apologized but he had to go to the hospital to get some treble hooks taken out. anyone have any advice???

All fishermen/women have that story about the one that got away.What was yours & how much do you think it weighed?

For me,it was a large mouth bass weighing somewhere between 9-12 lbs. that I had been going after for over a month.Then,the moment happened.He hit my line,I jerked to hook him & the fight ensued.I just knew it was him.I was ecstatic! (maybe too much so which is probably why I lost him) About halfway in,he comes up out of the water, (which was a beautiful sight) wiggled pretty, (as a taunt) spit my bait out, (I could've sworn he smiled as he looked at me) & plunged back into the water.I stood there stunned, (that moment we've all felt) then a bit angry, (a lot angry actually lol) at myself for losing him.Yet,I had to smile to myself too cause that one that got away had outfished me! lol

What is your fish story? I'd love to hear it!

what is the best wayu to catch pikes and walleyes, i never catch anything each time i go fishing and i always end up fishing with maggots cause i try jerkbait, nothing, rubber bait, nothing, feathers,nothing, spinners,nothing. what am i doing wrong? where are pikes and walleyes? am i not catching any because of the way i retrieve my lure or what, im desperate.

I know that you can estimate the water temps. by taking 5 nightly lows and averaging it out but, What happens when you have this unusual cold front ? How much will it affect the water temps.? Does it hold true for rivers as in lakes? Any help would be appreciated.

in the Gulf of Mexico, around the Galveston area, and you catch some big fish, are you allowed to keep them and take them home, packed on ice.???? In some of those Saturday morning fishing shows,they always turn them loose.
If I was going to spend that much money, I'd want to have some fish to take home.
