Any time between late July and the middle of October. We usually go out at least 60 miles offshore. I'm a Maryland resident and fish off of Ocean City ,Maryland as well as Virginia Beach....I caught an 88 pounder earler in the Summer (July)

Off of Montauk, NY, not that far from Virginia Beach, the best time is during the summer. Sad to say, however, not many blue or white marlin around. Yet there are still some, just not many.

When they're biting, but seriously, November is usually sub-par.
