Okay. I love my training. Tonight, I went 2.5 hours. One hour kajukenbo. One and a half hours judo jiu-jitsu. Now I'm sore. In fact, my collar hurts but I can still move it. No more burning pain from earlier this evening. Here's my question: What do you people use to recover after a workout? I've already increased my chromium intake (chromium picolinate = 200 mcg; chromium chloride in a one-a-day vitamin = 120 mcg). I haven't increased potassium. I get 100 mg in a one-a-day vitamin. I think that's real low. Near the end of my sessions, my calves and sometimes my Serratus posterior inferior (my ribs) and the lumbar region cramp. I think that might be dehydration. I try to minimize my carb intake for health reasons and trying to drop a little more weight to get faster. Any tips, training ideas, suggestions?

Please mention your favorite style of martial arts. I am looking preferably for rare styles and where only chosen few have come to master the art of it. If you do know of the different styles please post it, the description of it, the origins if possible, and possibly a location. I'm very interested in learning new forms.

It has hand, leg and grappling techniques. And unlike other styles of martial arts (kung fu, etc) you start learning self defense from the first day in class.

I've done Jiu-jitsu, boxing, and some muy tai for a long time and I'm not scared at anyone at school but people make fun of me b/c when someone talks **** to me or wants to start something I always do what I have been told and calm the situation and leave avoiding fighting at all costs. Just wondering if this is how yall feel.

Hi! I currently practice mixed martial arts in los angeles, but want to try a new school. Something in the Glendale/Pasadena/SilverLake/Hollywood area is ideal, weapons training is preferred.

Thanks!!

An old Martial Arts Master is training his young student on a hill in the countryside. The Master pauses, holds up a piece of glass, and ask the student to look thru it and asks "what do you see?"
The student replies "I see the sky,the trees, the grass, the birds,
the stream,children playing,...I see everything"
The Master then held up a mirror and asked "what do you see now".The student replied "I see only myself".
At this the Master said "see what a difference a little bit of silver makes"
