People always have a hard time fighting someone who fights looking uncoordinated. You can't time them, they're unpredictable, they don't have patterns of attack or defense that you pick up. When they're a counterpuncher combined with jammer types of fighter, with some angler thrown in, they're hard to beat.
BTW, a Jammer the type that comes in fast, blasting you with lightning quick , close-range strikes and blocks, who doesn't let the opponent set up for a power strike. They are adept at closing the gap. They know how to set up for a joint lock.
An Angler comes in or out at angles, not in straight lines. One who knows how to use angles is hard to hit, neutralizes a powerful opponent by presenting only awkward opportunities at being hit (angle of strikes would be wrong or awkward),. Easy for angler to trap arm and break elbow. The guy who knocked out Chris Leben recently (Brazilian guy) was made very good use of angles and understood how to use it.

This is a question that has pondered the minds of martial artists all over the world. In my opinion, as a 22 year veteran of the martial arts, I can honestly say that the effectiveness of a style depends on the individual person.
Some people are more adept to a particular style of fighting. Those with extremely flexible legs and hips, for example, would excel best at kicking arts such as tae kwon do. Those who are skilled with their hands would benefit more from boxing.
Also, the effectiveness depends on the context the style is used in. Is it being used for tournament or sport fighting? Or, is is to be used as an effective form of self-protection or hand to hand combat?
In closing, I would like to add that, the most effective styles are those that use principles as their basis, instead of the memorization of techniques (ie, "I'll use this defense if my attacker does this.") Since violence is a very random thing, it is a mute point to try to memorize a solution for every encounter, as you will most likely face a situation you are not prepared for.

sounds like you listed each and every sort you may want to imagine of. final analysis is that there is not any better sort. If there have been old timers interior the martial arts like myself might want to have end what we were doing and studied purely that sort. purely lack of understanding maintains to have this question arise. quite than searching for the holy grail of martial arts you may want to favor to first see what's provided on your section. each and every section has purely a restricted form of martial arts accessible to it. even more effective significant is calling a sturdy instructor. i'm no longer talking about someone that seems sturdy at what they do. i'm talking about someone that has large comprehend-how, and training ability. His rank, awards, and scholars achievements aren't from now on a sturdy indication of his properly worth as an instructor. discover the perfect instructor on your section and study what ever sort he teaches. you'll develop right into a much more effective martial artist. and searching for suggestion on Y/A about what's the perfect martial artwork is like asking a 10 twelve months old the way you should make investments your retirement money. they're going to honestly provide you with options, yet is that the suggestion you fairly are looking for for?
