It could be an actual fight (like in a ring or cage) or some street fight. I guess what i really want to know, is where u get the balls to fight someone. Im trainin to be an MMA fighter, and I just build up a lot of anger and unleash it on anyone i have to beat. Whether it be on the street or the cage.

My 6yo son has been doing taekwondo for over a year and a half and is a purple belt. He was once so passionate about it that he kept saying he would be a black belt by age 10 and go to the Olympics. But now, he has no interest in practicing. We have a DVD with the forms, I've set aside time for him to practice, I've begged, pleaded, threatened, bribed, ignored and removed priviledges, but still, no practicing. He's forgotten the first 4 forms altogether.

Should I just let him quit for now, or try something else to keep him interested?

Is that the best hope for the very little man? To get a good punch or kick in?

You always hear that brutal street fights are determined by who gets the first punch in. But from all the fights I have seen, the person who can pin the other person's arms to the ground and get on top of the other person and punch them in the face over and over and over wins. Because the other person usually cannot push the other person off of them. I have seen some brutal fights like that where the person just has free shots at the other person's face. Even worse, nobody breaks it up sometimes. You would think a person could get killed that way. Seems like most fights finish up on the ground.

Okay, just started TaeKwonDo, our instructor doesn't tell us squat. How many of those "tips" are there to advance to yellow. What is the (I believe) 16-step form called? (Where you keep your fist close to your chest, parallel to the ground) Are we suppose to get a book or anything? How long should the process from white to yellow take?
What is the flip over the elevated rectangle mat called. Is there something called horsecrab????
Ugh, it is moving so fast.
Thank you so much people!

The hold is one that a person behind you places their arms under yours then comes up and around behind your neck and locks the fingers behind your neck. It is a control hold. And can be used offensively.
