It could be an actual fight (like in a ring or cage) or some street fight. I guess what i really want to know, is where u get the balls to fight someone. Im trainin to be an MMA fighter, and I just build up a lot of anger and unleash it on anyone i have to beat. Whether it be on the street or the cage.

Well, if you want to be a professional fighter, or you simply want to compete, just treat it like any other task. It's all in the preparation. If you trained a hard and thuroughly, your only worry should be, your opponent. Having fight footage made available or working with some one of simular style, can be helpful.

As a mixed martial artist, it is your responsibility to train for every contingency. That means, getting your self in shape (cardio, weights, flexibility, agility), working your submissions, your ground game, your stand-up, and anticipating moves. To be more efficient, train for your opponent. Get to know as much about your opponent and train to fight your opponent.

If you are unable, for what ever reason, to get fight and training background on your opponent, train every thing. You are only as strong as your weaknesses.

To motivate your self to fight, what you don't want to do is be wound-up and angry. Being tense and high strung, is a no-no. You must be focused and loose, before a fight. Anger will cloud your judgement and will make you screw up. The best way to be confident, is to set a goal and achieve it. That means, making your weaknesses, strong points, be comfortable with adapting, and knowing that, the path to victory, runs straight through your opponent; it's a knock-out, a submission, or a judges decision, away.

If you're scared to get hit or hurt, you're entering the wrong sport. It's natural to be scared but when you train, you will get used to it. The only way you learn and adapt, is through repetition.

Chuck Norris did an interview. He had that ability to be Mr. Nice Guy and turn on the (eye of the tiger) when he stepped into the ring. However, in a real fight you don't have time to psyce yourself up. you have to react instantly. To do that there are several things you have to do. 1) you have to instantaneously turn it on. (instinct) you get that thru constantly training to make it second nature. 2) you have to trust your technique that it will work. I have seen many martial artist bouncing in a bar , get into a confrontation and not use any technique, they get in to a slug fest. The way you trust your technique is again, constant trainging, Wear the protective gear and do full contact.
So I guess the answer is Train, Train and more training.
Hope this helps

I was in the Marine Corps, I was never really a fighter, but we had some close combat stuff we did. It was wrestling, and techniques to learn to stay alive. I guess the best thing that I can tell you, is to not let your fear get in the way. Just go with what you know and breathe. If you don't concetrate on breathing, you will be out of breath and wont last.

You shouldn't be fighting on the street without regs, you should think about your safety. What if the other fighter has a weapon, what if someone in the crowd has a weapon? Theres alot of fuct up people in the world, and you may be fighting for sport, but is that other fighter?

There are mental stamina, (spirit training class) at the local college where i'm at. Knowing the pressure points helps. I know Tae Kwon Do, and can take a person down or end them in seconds So, you can save yourself alot of energy knowing them Not sure what MMA is, but if your boxing a strategy is good

Fighting in the ring will get you nothing but brain damage sooner or later.Fighting to release anger could get you killed, you never know what the other guy may do,even if you beat them up,they may take it personally and shoot you when you are not looking.

Just train. Don't let your feelings get involved (even in a street fight). I just imagine what I'm going to do to the person when I hit the bag or air.
