Just wondering what the exact definition is. If a player is called up from the teams respective AHL team for part of a season, is that considered their rookie year? Or do they have to start for the team at the beginning of the season?

Is there anyone in the NHL who means more to their team than Kovy does for the Thrashers??? They started 0-6 before Kovy put them on his back and now has them just below .500 and close to a playoff spot!!! (If it was the end of the season)

You know what is sad? He will not be voted as a starter for the All Star Game since he plays in Atlanta.

Over time here we have talked about coaches who were giants in their profession (Scotty Bowman, Al Arbour, Toe Blake quickly come to mind). However, I have yet to see a discussion about the louts of the coaching pedigree. Who have been absolutely lousy leading in leading NHL teams?

With all the talk about Mike Modano the past week becoming not only the greatest American-born NHL scorer (and in the process extending his record as the greatest scorer in Livonia, Michigan history), but being the best USA NHL player, I thought I would pose this question. Out of the Yankee goalies in NHL history, who stands out as the best ever?

......and be able to see any game from behind the bench, what would that game be, and why?

This probably has been asked before, but I don't care. I'm new, and I have never seen it asked.

Mine would be:
Game 7 of the 1964-65 Stanley Cup, why, because I love the Habs, and my main squeeze had the game winning goal
or
Game 7 of the 1986-87 Stanley Cup, why, because seeing The Great One in action behind the bench on game 7 would just be splendid.

Will the leafs trade Sundin? I can't picture them doing it. Sundin loves it there and they love Sundin. They'd be crazy to trade him. Any truths to these rumors?

After a loss, they were stuck in St. Louis.

Reminds me of being stuck in Las Vegas one night. The plane I was on was struck by lightning leaving Tampa. So, I guess it took them 2,000 miles to figure it was not safe to fly. Brilliant.

Any-who, after being asked one of the toughest goalie questions yesterday, I have made it a 10 minutes mission to come up with the toughest goalie question ever. So, here it is:

What NHL goalies have had more shutouts than wins in one season?

I think it sucks. It's boring, low scoring, dump and chase.

Back to the old NHL...

He's a great player, that is not the debate here. he seems to complain alot to the refs and players on other teams say he whines too much. Do you think he expects special treatment because he is one of the top players?

I hear this a lot, and am just wondering who it was that detroit bought to win a cup? I'll say this now, because I know plenty of Wing-bashers will say "yes". Hull, Robitaille, and Hasek don't necessarily make up a "trio of trouble" as far as "buying a championship" goes. I believe everyone else were products of an original draft pick, or a trade. Not sure. I just want to know who thinks this and why?

I was browsing the transactions and noticed that Jesse Boulerice and Steve Downie have moved between the Phantoms and the Flyers repeatedly since their suspensions. This usually happens on game days but it has not been 100% consistent. My guess is that they need to be on the roster to serve their suspension and not count against the cap if they are not on the roster. That seems to be the logical answer in my mind.

Does anyone know what the NHL's policy is for suspended players eligible to move between the big club and farm team? The AHL has upheld the suspension of both players. Does that mean they cannot play again in the AHL until they have served the full suspension in the NHL or will they eligible to play in the AHL if they have served the number of games assessed by the NHL? If a player is not moved up to the parent team for a game, does the game count as having been served towards their suspension?
