It has been argued that the NHL is pretty much maxed out at the number of teams the league already has. There really aren't any cities left that would support pro hockey here in the U.S., thus don't look for the NHL to expand anytime soon.

On the other hand, we could very well see one or two or more of the weaker teams either move or get contracted within the next few years.

Pittsburgh Penguins owner Mario Lemieux is exploring all options, including relocating the team to another city. The Pens play in the NHL's oldest arena, the Mellon Arena.

The team needs a new arena and all efforts to get the team a new arena in Pittsburgh have failed.

Lemieux has visited other cities including Kansas City, which has an offer on the table for him to move the Penguins to KC's brand new Sprint Center, which will be ready for the 2007-09 hockey season.

Listening to the caps announcer is bad enough. But this takes the cake. "FOlks dont forget get a papa johns pizza for $22.00 and get a ticket to see OV ( nickname)." So you buy a Pizza and get a ticket????? LOLOLLOLOLOLLOLOLOLOLOL.? Then they went on to brag the caps have averaged 13,400 fans over the last 15 games....with 2 great YOUNG PLAYERS? What a joke the NHL has become.

It has always seemed to me that of all the professional athletes, that hockey players are some of the friendliest and classiest. Just the other day, I was in a diner with my 6 year old son when the waitress took my son by the hand because she wanted him to meet someone. She took us over to Jeff Hamilton of the Blackhawks, who was eating breakfast by himself. He was on the phone, and could only wave to my son. The next time we were in the restaurant, the waitress gave us a card that Jeff Hamilton had given to her. He felt so bad about not being able to say hi to my son, that he gave her a card to give to my son. It was good for two tickets to a Hawks game. I thought that was so nice!

I was wondering if any of you have nice stories to share, because I'm sure there are many more.

I am looking for a pair of a certain model of nike bauer hockey gloves. I see so many nhl players with them on, but i cant find them anywhere to buy them. There not the one90, one80, one70, etc. neither the vapor models. they look exactly like the original bauer supreme gloves, except for where it says "bauer" on the cuff, it says "nike Bauer". Where is a website that i can get my paws on these babyies? Heres a picture of Scott Niedermayer wearing te exact gloves that im talking about.

I live in St. Louis originally from Milwaukee. I do not call the Blues my home team.. not that I don't like them.. AS most of you already guessed the Maple Leafs are one of my all time favorite teams.. the Buffalo Sabres being the other. What I don't get is why do you anti Leafs fans spend so much energy hating them.. why not use that energy to show off the teams you do love? I find it hilarious that people will take all their efforts to bash one team when the league has so many teams. I never understood the whole Milwaukee/Chicago thing either. I LOVE the Wolves and I love the Admirals. Infact I went to Admirals games just to see the players on the other teams I loved to cheer for.. The Komets had Purves, the Wolves had Rob Brown and Steve Maltais, the Lumberjacks had Jock Callander, the Blades had Caloun and David Bruce..
The Rivermen had Michel Mongeau, etc.. there were so many talented players to watch and enjoy.. Getting to see Tommy Salo was one of my greatest thrills..
