Alex Ovechkin. But don't take my word for it.

Prior to the season, TSN conducted a survey of all 30 GMs. One of the questions asked was this very question.

11 of the 30 said Ovechkin. The next closest player got 4 votes. Enough said.

Yeah, I broke the "rules", big deal. Also, the poster who said that Alex doesn't make the players around him better is delusional. Chris Clark and Dainus Zubrus are having career years. Alexander Semin is playing extraordinary hockey right now.

Crosby, without a doubt, 19 and leads the scoring race! Which makes him the best because... he can score and set up goals. Ovechkin scores goals but doesnt have great assists ie Kobe Bryant, cant make players around him great, Crosby will. Plus Crosby is Canadian. Every team that wins the cup has at least one Canadian as the leader, Sakic, Yzerman, Stevens, Brodeur, Staal, Iginla, Warriors! Next up Crosby. Ovechkin wont win the cup.
