hockey is the best sport in the world... fast paced hard-hitting action and the fans are the most loyal.
you aren't going to find a better game, no matter what other people may tell you.

Uh-Yeah!
As a kid I grew up on Texas Rangers & Nolan Ryan - never won a pennant, but man, he had a great pitch, along with the Dallas Cowboys - even when they went south in the 80's. Even as a non-sporty kind of girl, I loved to watch. I knew almost nothing of hockey. My first game I was hooked. The hits, the punches, the all out fist fights that the officials let continue until someone hits the ice. The fans cheering as their guy heads to the locker room after a good fight. The verbal onslaught the fans throw at the officials. You don't see that in BASEBALL. Although Nolan Ryan has swung a punch or two. The flow of the game -- they guy with the puck trips and falls, no one blows a whistle or stops a clock, the next guy takes over, and the game continues, it's not like that in FOOTBALL, where the clock seems to stop every 15 seconds. The rattle of the boards when someone gets checked. Sudden Death Overtime, or a Shootout. Come on, what gets better, or worse for that matter. The pace of the game, non-stop action and hard hitting guys, ya gotta love it -- Definately converted me. It's one of those sports that you enjoy no matter what the level of the team, NHL, AHL, UHL, CHL or little 10 yr olds out on the ice. Throw into that a great group of guys or are nice to their fans, and just happy to be living their dreams . . . It's a cool game

It is the coolest sport going, It is Un-Canadian to think otherwise.
I love having people over on the weekend, having a couple of drinks and watch a double header of HOCKEY. Everything about the game is great, the guys, the rivalries, the new rules(minus a couple) make it better and much more fast paced.
I try to go to at least 5 games during the year. It's fun to watch from home, but nothing beats being there.

hockey is so cool - I am a 'girlie girl" and don't really get into basketball, football, nascar and stuff - but let me tell you - hockey freakin rocks - If you want to really find out if a girl is worth dating - take her to a hockey game - they totally turn me on. All those hot sweaty white men (I say, white men, b/c so many of the other professional sports are dominated by big black men) they are grunting and using every muscle in their body - and if you are really lucky during a game, you will see a fight or two. Let me ask you, Does it get any better than this?
