Why do English say Thierry Onreee, and not say Henry the way it is said in English, and the french say ferdeenond and not Ferdinand. surley if the English can respect the French way then the french should respect the english way....

I'm not trying to defend him, he can go to hell for all I care but we don't know what the Italian player said to him, if it was me and he said something about my family or my country I think I would have done much more than what he did, I would have beat the crap out of the dude specially if I know I'm going to retire from the sport..who cares about the awards or what people would say!!!

I know that Germany had the go ahead since 2000, and that the next one is in South Africa, what about 2014? Do they make a list and take turn between countries? Or is it decided one world cup at a time?

Obviously its not so out of character considering he did it to Jochen Kientz in the game between Juventus Turin and Hamburger SV. He also got a red card and a two-game suspension for stomping on Saudi Arabia's captain Fuad Amin in the 1998 World Cup, allegedly in response to a racial slur. Congratulations and VIVA ITALIA LE CAMPIONI DEL MONDO!

Finally, some excitement us americans can enjoy about world cup soccer. Some controversy is what the boring game needs. Some personality too. What do the rest of you think?

Admittedly, it would hardly be noticed in such sports as hockey or football, but it would seem to offer wonderful possibilities in such sports as in tennis when players change ends or in golf when it could be practiced when players approach the first tee.

Zinedine Zidane is popularly nicknamed Zizou. Let me ask you, if you had a poodle, wouldn't Zizou be a great name for it?

France played better, hands down...Italian fans can't say any different. France deserved to win, if only because they got through into the finals not by bad calls, but by sheer desire and skill...

Italy had a controversial tie against the US, who still kept up even while being down two, and then a Uber-(in the spirit of germany)Controversial ending with Australia, only to let Zidane win the Final for them. Italy was a good team...don't get me wrong...but France was better, hands down.

Just look at the actual finale...

Italy was playing a man up...they had an advantage because of that headbutt...but you couldn't tell by looking at em...they only had two or three attackers when they had the ball, while the rest of the team lagged in the backfield, walking towards the ball...

????????????

THIS IS THE WORLD CUP! SUCK IT UP!
you can't lollygaggle in the world cup finale...

meanwhile france played hard, balls-out, no nonsense soccer....

cont...

If Fafa is sponsoring to said no to Racism they need to work this out so it will not happen in the future. is very embarasing for all this happen at the end of a very Important game in the world. I think that was a very fair game but what happen to Zizou is unfair because any boby will do the same when they mention a family menber or insult you telling you that you are a terrorist. Zidane will still be one of the great ones.

OK, let's look at it this way. Let's say that France went up against Germany.

The German dog is the German shepherd.

What is the French dog?

a poodle.

A stupid little poodle with little poodle curls that does not bathe and instead is sprayed with perfume (like the people).

Now, put a German Shepherd up against a Poodle and who would win?

A poodle would lose to a German shepherd, an Irish setter, heck, even against an English muffin.

What's your opinion? We'd like to know.

Having just returned from watching the 3 US first round games, it was rather pathetic to only have two "songs", the chanting of "usa usa", and the clapping ending with "US". (I don't count the chanting of a players name). All other teams in comparison had elaborate songs, chants, dances, and costumes. The funniest part was that a number of their songs/chants were english songs with the words to them changed. So, I open the question up as to what would be some good songs/chants that can be learned by the masses for a better, more cohesive showing in 2010?

If you didn't know about the World Bowl, and you mentioned "Zidane," woudn't you think it was a drug you bought to sleep better?

Advertisement: Can't sleep? Try Zidane. It will help you sleep for four years. Note that side effects include banging your head and receiving colored cards.

Unless you're insane
You must try Zidane
