I think your point is a good one but seems to have been missed by other responders. I found it strange, living in Ireland to hear English commentators pronounce the "th" in Paul MacGrath when we usually drop the "th" and say Paul MacGra. But we have an Irish commentator who was laughed at for pronouncing Brondby of Sweden as Brondbu which I think is more correct.. I guess commentators will try to pronounce it as the public expect in the end

Because that is how you pronounce it fool!
I was talking about Henry not Ferdinand, I have no idea how the French pronounce Ferdinand. Surely if you live in France you should know this?

I hate when people don't make the effort of pronouncing foreign names right , I had to try for months to get people at work to say my last name ( its Spanish) right, they all lived in UK but were not English, and were all ignorants, English people usually get it right, or ask for help, just treat it with more respect ( the educated ones anyway)
and I just call him MY DEAR VA VA VOOM the best player in France now St Zizou is gone lol
ok... Henry

French names are pronounced the frrech way, English names are pronounced the english way, and no one knows how to pronounce asian names! (that's not a racist comment, I'm an asian myself. Just annoyed at the announcers)
