Its because its the most sensitive issue right now.Especially when it concerns a religion such as Islam which unfourtunately has become embroiled and associated with so many negative issues in our world today. Unfair you might add...but reality nonetheless.
Sports unfourtunately has its fair share of religiously tainted issues.
Zidane's was one of many classic examples of what Ive mentioned.

Because it is a fact that 60% of the people who attend church regularly do not believe in God. They just lie about it because they are afraid of what other's will think of them.
