Rooney's accidental step into another guy's balls wasn't as funny as Zidane's headbutt because of the abruptness with which Zidane knocked him down. Rooney's cheap shot was just brutal and unnecessary whereas Materazzi's fall was very comical. Seeing in the replay in real time speed only increased the humor. My friends and I were cracking up for a full 10 minutes. With DVR, we did a frame by frame replay with it and Materazzi's facial expression was hilarious.

Zidane's was funnier, because it was so weird, one second he's walking up the field, and the next, he's thrusting his head into some other man's chest.
