In the world cup there are the so called "good" teams like Brazil, Italy and other European teams. Then there are the underdogs that people don't expect much from (Togo, Korea, ect). What constitues this "good" team? Are those start players like Ronaldo born with some magic skill that Aussie players don't possess?
what would it take for the underdog teams to win? will it ever be possible?

These guys think and act as if everytime someone comes near them they have to grab their shins, howl in pain, and roll around for good measure, sometimes when they haven't even been touched there.
For a world class sport this is emarassing and as a coach for youger players, aggravating because the kids replicate what these sissies do on tv! Maybe FIFA should get into the 21st century, and bring in 2 referres on the pitch, video replay like in other professional sports and punish severely the acting which is detracting from this great game. Soccer is a fast game and the referees are human and can not catch everything. It would be a totally different look if a referee had to review a play on video before awarding a penalty kick. Maybe the Australia would still be in the world cup! Also for what these guys get paid they should be able to absorb a little punishment.
This is a world class sport but I'm afraid it needs some work to get the tarnish off it.

Anyone else think the standard of refeering in the WC is terrible?Ok, make a few refs have done ok but i've seen most of the games and think the majority have been awful. Could it be too much pressure on them from Fifa?, or are too many of them just not used to refing big games?I think TV replays would help for important decisions, i.e penaltys and whether the ball has crossed the line. Also, players should be punished after the game for diving if they win a penalty or get someone sent off. (The portuguese are very good at this.)

When I asked a man that is known for his love of sports what he tought of soccer and the 2006 FIFA World Cup he was eger to answer. And suprisingly he answers, "Soccer is about as interesting as watching paint dry."
I for one was very insalted by that comment as a player and as a fan.
So, tell me the truth. Is that what the US really thinks of soccet?

If FIFA holds to its promise to send home referees who don't perform their duties as they've been told to, there won't be any referees left by July 9th.

Send you application to:
Sepp Blatter,
FIFA,
Zurich
