Because Americans are biased about football(soccer) as everyone else in the world is about American football. Both sides aren't interested in the other football. Also, as always Americans think everything THEY do is better and right, when the rest of the world disagrees, hence they think American football is better, when in reality they're just being ignorant. You can't say something is better when you know nothing/or hardly about what you are claiming as less.

Additionally, whoever said football is not popular in Asia. UM...I don't know where you found your sources, but Asia is football-crazed, almost as much as Europe or South America. Asian football just isn't acknowledged as much, because lets face it, the World Cup should just be Euro-Cup version 2.0, don't you agree?

Because a lot of other countries only have a few sports. Soccer can also be played by anyone because very little equipment is needed, so poor countries can still have soccer. It would be hard for a third world country to be able to afford pads for everyone to play American football.

How many times are people going to ask this?

There are a lot of places it's not popular. Most of the Caribbean, most of Asia, and Australia and New Zealand have sports that are much more popular than soccer. Just like those areas, we have other sports that are more popular (football, baseball, basketball, hockey).

No real answer...but in the full scheme of things, the game is too short for us to try to take in; get a frank. We like nice long events where we can bore our eyes out on the TV, and with only up to a maximum of 2 Hours (with OT) for soccer, American's can't really benefit from the game time wise. Also, its not really commercialized, like no soccer players are on TV, whearas every single basketball, baseball, and football player is in every ad.

U.S. is commercial/money oriented (they can't show them when there are no breaks for 45 minutes) and does not appreciate the finesse of "Football"-Soccer as it is referred to in the U.S.). Soccer is more then a sport. It is an art form!

football is world renowned. asia is extremely football crazy, so is the whole of africa, europe, and south america. even the caribean countries enjoy football alot, its just they have other sports like cricket aswell. but football is the biggest sport i nthe world, and the americans are too arrogant to realise that.

because people are obsessed with "all-american" sports like football and baseball. they think soccer is stupid and easy and that it takes only minimum skill.
