Countries have to bid to host the world cup, like cities do with the Olympics. As far as I know the only future WC set for now is South Africa 2010.

I think you meant to say when will the FIFA World Cup be held in Canada? In order for a country to host the FIFA World Cup, that country must possess at least 10 stadiums with a minimum capacity of 40, 000 seats. Many countries in South America except for Brazil and Argentina do not have such large venues. It will cost them close to 1 billion dollar to build and upgrade new stadiums. having said all that Canada do possesses the venues to handle the FIFA World Cup, the next step is they need to bid against other nations to host the competitions. The next FIFA Cup will be in South Africa 2010; Brazil 2014 and 2018 is wide open for any countries to bid for hosting the cup and maybe Canada will bid for hosting FIFA World Cup 2018.

Colombia was scheduled to host the 1986 world cup but pulled out at the last moment and Mexico volunteered to host the event in it's place.
Because of that, it is very doubtful that Colombia will ever host the world cup, even though it has the infrastructure to hold the games (10 stadiums with capacity for over 40,000 people)

Brasil may be the host for the 2014, but I really wouldn't like that. I would like for it to be held in other country, I mean they were considering Ecuador-Colombia, because in total they do have the structure but it would cost a lot and Korea-Japan didn't give as much winnings as they expected. For colombia alone it would be much too expensive.
Also, I wouldn't really like Canada either as it would be like holding in the US where nobody really cares about football.
