Landis implies the test lab had it in for him due to some agenda in the Tour. But wouldn't a tainted lab be much more likely to turn up dirt on all time champ Armstrong - the French's bete-noir?

My mountain bike finally gave out. I love mountain biking but I was thinking about buying a road bike. I have never tried a road bike but I sure would like to try it out.

How many miles could I expect to ride on my mountain bike with "slicks" tires on flat country roads?

Looking at a 180 mile ride and am wondering how many miles I can crank out comfortably and how many days it will take. On this same bike I road 30 miles in 2.5 hours and could probably have ridden more after a break - but what should I expect for a 45 year old in shape male who does not ride a ton?

I am going to go on a 180 mile, 3 day bicycle trip through Wisconsin on country roads later this month. I have a Specialized Hard Rock mountain bike with "flat" tires rather than the nobby tires and was hoping that could do the job rather than buying a new "road" bike. Wondering what the down side is to riding a mountain bike vs. a road bike?

I understand the purpose of wearing riding gear - to make it easier to get from point A to point B as fast as possible - but when they are riding to train (become more fit) can't they wear normal outfits (shirt & shorts) that might actually make it harder to ride because of wind friction and hence get a better workout?

I have a roof rack that i carry the bicycle on. I find it difficult to reassemble the tire to the frame, and avoid rubbing against the brake.

He tested positive from the backup sample. Yes, I know that there were some outside stuff in the sample. But do you think Floyd Landis was actually really guilty?

I got a new bike and it has Presta valves. I don't want to buy a $40 pump with the Presta option, and I have the little brass adapter which took me over an hour to seat right on the valve to fill the tires. I've been looking online and have found some inexpensive (under $20) Bell pumps, but the one recommendation said it was crap. Does anyone know of an adaptor for my Schrader pump? Or am I doomed to shell out another $40 for a pump?

I was a big supporter two weeks ago but now we find out he may have cheated. I don't really follow cycling but his stage 17 comback was something special. I was proud and felt good that an American had taken the tour once again- now i dont know how to feel about him, want to give him a chance
