Clipless. They have two advantages. One is that you get more power from your cadence, since you're pulling on the peddals when you're lifting your foot.

And the reason I went clipless was that you have more control of the bike, since you don't have to worry about keeping your feet in the pedals.

Once you get used to cliping out, you do it without tought, no problem there.

I have read that clip pedals are better. You need to have some way to keep your feet on the pedals, and the clips are easier to get in and out of than the "cage" type pedals.
