I got a new bike and it has Presta valves. I don't want to buy a $40 pump with the Presta option, and I have the little brass adapter which took me over an hour to seat right on the valve to fill the tires. I've been looking online and have found some inexpensive (under $20) Bell pumps, but the one recommendation said it was crap. Does anyone know of an adaptor for my Schrader pump? Or am I doomed to shell out another $40 for a pump?

The adapters are best used for emergencies when you are at a gas station. If you can afford a new bike, you gotta shell out the dough for a pump also. Check the link below...found one for you for only $7, plus shipping. Handles presta or shrader.

You should get a frame pump that handles presta also.

I tried using an adapter for a few weeks, and it just drove me nuts. They don't work very well. I spent way to much time trying to fill my tires up before a ride! I recommend that you buy a nice pump. It will be well worth it in the long run!
