Landis implies the test lab had it in for him due to some agenda in the Tour. But wouldn't a tainted lab be much more likely to turn up dirt on all time champ Armstrong - the French's bete-noir?

That's what you'd think. But Armstrong had gained a lot of respect in the cycling world, especially among the French after being tested so many times and coming up negative. Now, they may have been tired of seeing an American win and decided to taint it. Although, I highly doubt it. Americans claim the french hate them, when I think Americans hate the French even more. But whether or not one side hates the other, I doubt the French would try and fix the results because they just like the sport too much.

The whole sport is tainted; it's no fun to watch because nothing is real until weeks later when the drug tests come out.

It will continue until people and their sponsors are horrendously punished for fraud. Any gross violations should earn a ban for life from any professional/amateur sporting events INCLUDING the coaches, trainers and any financial backers. IMagine if that were the rule; coaches & trainers would really put their athletes on notice! And the financiers would want certified proof of no drugs.

But that won't happen, so the sport is ruined. Same goes for the Olympics, it's all ruined because you never know if the event you're watching will be all wiped out after the tests come out.

If there is a conspicacy, no becuase
1. Armstrong was much more connected to the cycling world.
2. Armstrong wasnt only a participant in the cycling world but in the cancer world. They dont want to take away the hope of cancer patients too.
3. It is extremely hard to implicate him now. He isint biking, so his name can not be argued belivably anymore.
4. Easier to take down Floyd earlier in his career. Imagine Floyd, but without a funky hip. A great threat to the likes of Vino and others who couldnt make it to this years Tour.

Probably some other things i cant remember, but i think that is pretty decent answer.
