lets look at a little pattern here in the NBA finals over the past 3 years, shall we? 3 years ago--Lakers heavily favored over Detroit....Detroit wins in 5. 2 years ago, Detroit kills the entire league during the regular season, winning almost 70 games...Detroit loses to San Antonio. Last year, virtually every sports analyst was saying Dallas in 6. Miami ends up springing back from 0-2 to win 4 in a row.

Underdog has won all 3 of the past championships. Why are San Antonio fans so sure of themselves? Doesn't Gregg Popovich tell his players to have a "fearful respect" for the other team? If Tim Duncan can have respect for the opponent, surely the fans can too.

Before the Pistons-Cavs series began, I actually thought that they had the greatest chance to win the championship. It was only after the first game of the Cavs series that I changed my mind. I was really surprised by their lack of skill in all 6 of the games. I mean, had the Cavs not made 1 or 2 key mistakes, they could've easily swept the Pistons.

Was anyone else surprised?

Cleveland will win the NBA Finals. Lebron James is playing at a higher level than anyone else in the playoffs similar to Dwayne Wade last year. Both teams only have one superstar and Ill take James over Duncan because James can dominate the game multiple ways. Tim Duncan is a great player but he rarely has been able to dominate a game. Parker tends to disappear against good defensive teams. If Ginobli doesnt have a hugh Finals I think the spurs will be going home in 6.

Why when I look around the net (Chat Rooms, youtube, nba.com, and yahoo answers) all i see is the Pistons fans crying and making excuses. Examples:" The Nba is fixed", "They gave the Cavs BS Calls", "We got no calls" Non of these are true and the smarter (If you call them that) Pistons fans just haters. Example: "Cavs suck should not have made it past the nets" (Yea so they could wipe them out in 4), or"Lebron is overated. (But he dropped 48 points on you in your house). The point is why is Piston's fans like this. The WERE winners for five years and when they get beat by underdogs they cry. Is something wrong? I mean from the palace brawl (which they started) till now. What in the blue hell is wrong with Piston's fans? Please tell me.

Spurs fans are suppose to be classy ,so why dont u show it.The cavs have a chance. Noone said the cavs would beat the nets or pistons and they did. Not a cavs fan or spurs fan . Im a bulls fan and jazz fan and i know they are at home so dont need to rub that in

You're confident LeBron can win that championship for you right? Are you confident enough to waive all your rights to make excuses and be willing to take whatever Spurs fans say if the Spurs win the championship? LOL
I'll hold you to your word. It will be a sweet "haha I told you so" If the Spurs do win. Which they will in all likelyhood. In 5 games I say

I have been a Cavs fane for a long time. Let's face it it's been hard...
It is so nice to finally have some post-season success.

My question is will Cleveland/Detroit be a good rivalry for the next however many years? I respect the hell outta Detroit. For the most part, they are nothing but class. I have had nothing against them the whole time. Plus, I think we all know they will reload next year.

With the Cavs getting better and better, I think we could be looking a a pretty good rivalry for some time to come.

What do you think?

Now that the Cavs eliminated the Pistons, the Finals won't be that boring anymore. Although half of boringdom (the Spurs) will be their opponent, it won't be a sleeper because of LeBron. What he did in the Eastern finals made me a believer.

I told you so........

If Lebron James wins the title..........

no one can dispute the NBA playoffs were rigged for Lebron.

2007-06-02 23:55:22 · 15 answers · asked by icyhott4urmind 1

Does anybody else think that the NBA fixed it so that Lebron would get to the Finals? I find it very suspicious that at a time when the NBA needs a face save the league, Dwayne Wade wins the Finals last year with no real help outside a past-his-prime Shaq, and now this year Lebron takes a very bad team to the Finals after beating Detroit, one of the most highly regarded organizations in basketbell (players, coach, front office, passionate fan base).

Take into consideration, too, that teams that tanked, like Boston, Memphis, and Milwaukee, lost the draft lottery to two teams (Seattle and Portland) that still gave a crap at the end of the season. I find it all very suspicious.

Don't get me wrong. I love, love LOVE the NBA, but if the Cavs beat the Spurs for the Championship, I really don't know what to say.

Watch yourselves. Watch your back. Watch your front. Watch your eyes. Watch your nose. Watch your crotch. Watch your achilles. Watch your ankles. Watch yourself when you're in a vulnerable position running up the sideline. Watch EVERYTHING.
