I thought the baseball commissioner had ruled that no one could wear that number any more in homage to Jackie Robinson.

Last night in our Dixie Youth game, the following situation occured: We had runner on third, 0 outs, pitcher threw wild pitch. It hit a pole on the backstop and went 90 degrees in the other direction. Our batter backed out of the box, was 20-30 feet from home plate with his back turned to the catcher, and the catcher ran into him. The umpires called our batter out for interference. If this is true, what should our batter do?

Here's mine
you put index finger on one "u", and the thumb on the other "u".
Then, you spin the ball while flicking your wrist.
DOing this right, it will be unstoppable

We're pitting the 2 biggest cities against each other or hard luck franchises (minus the Series win for the Sox in 04)

I have a die-hard Mets fan husband that tells my 3 year old son that if he isn’t a “Mets fan, he will be disowned, you’ll disappoint daddy, etc”. This also goes for my in-laws that tell him the same thing and informed me, that that’s the way it’s going to be whether my son or I like it or not. It goes on to the point that whenever the Yankees are mentioned on TV or radio with my son around, my husband/in-laws are quick to tell my son in a stern voice that the “Yankees are evil and that they hate little children, They are bad, etc.” I really don’t need my 3-year-old learning this hate or getting fresh with an adult wearing a Yankees hat or t-shirt and telling them off. Not only that, I don’t need him going to school and getting popped in the face for mouthing off to another child who’s a Yankee fan because my son is spitting out what he has learned (and probably doesn't understand) and tells them he/she’s a loser for liking the Yankees. Am I wrong?!

if a hitter swings on strike 3 and the catcher misses the pitch, the hitter is allowed to run to first base. Why is that?

I think they are .. I think the franchise was born a calcified mummy in 1960 , then known as The Washington Senators.
The owners dress it up and paint different smiles each season
but the organization never seems to progress somehow .

The fans seem to be cool with some guy that hits 45 homers and swings at a down and away completely out of reach with two strikes . Even when everyone in the ball park knew what was coming . The fans think bashball is all there is to baseball .
Know what I would like to see ? The Rangers steal a win on a manufactured run once in a while . Seeing the fielders back each other up would be nice . I hate seeing a ball get by the centerfielder and BOTH of the other outfielders are standing in their camping spot scratchin their *** . I want to see guys be selective at the plateso to make the pitcher throw more pitches . The Rangers campaign slogan this year is ' You need some Baseball ! ". TELL me about it !
