Of course he can. You don't forget how to hit. He will probably finish with a .270-.280 average and 35-40 taters assuming no injuries the rest of the way.

Over the years Barry Bonds has learned to stay away from the bad pitches and takes a lot of BB's. Ryan Howard is a young player and has not learned that lesson. The pitchers know he is quick to pull the trigger and they are not throwing many over the plate. As such, both his K's and BB's are up this year, he is not getting good pitches to hit and his batting average is down as a result. He will get it all figured out and return to a 300 hitter and 40 homeruns, if not this year for sure next year.

Well, he has to get off the DL before anything else. But when Howard comes back, I think that he definately bounce back. There are 100 or so games left, he can get his average up to .300, if he gets rollin. The man started last season pretty slow, but had huge months in June, July, and August. I expect him to adjust, and come back clobberin.

LIftetime, he is about a .300 hitter. If he were to hit that for the remainder of the season, then he would be looking at about .270.
However, he is walking 1.5 times as frequently as he was last year. As such, he will have to adjust to seeing fewer pitches. My guess is he finishes somewhere closer to .250.

I hope so. I don't think the Phils will have enough to overtake the Mets unless Ryan can start hitting like he did last season. I'll guess he can boost his BA to .290.

YES....as long as he goes back to what he did last year, instead of trying to pull the ball all the time
