no, the home team is almost always on the firstbase side.
I dont know of any advantage, other than its probably a little nicer than the visitors clubhouse.

I think the "home team" occupying the third base dugout is more the exception than the rule....In my experience, the home team usually always occupies the first base side dugout.

Some home teams use the first base dugout. There is not an advantage and it just gets back to that one big word, "Tradition".

I don't think it's true that most are on the third base line. At one time I believe the Tigers, Cubs and Dodgers were the only teams to be on that side. With the new ballparks, I think more teams have switched sides, but still don't think it is most teams.
I would've thought it would be preferred to be on the first base side since it's a shorter jog to the dugout after grounding out or flying out. But that's just me, I'm lazy.
