Runner going from 1st to 2nd, center fielder throws to 2nd baseman. Runner would be out but baseman bobbled ball and did not have control. Is the runner out or safe and what is the rule?

I've read this kind of statement a million times on this board. I'm not even sure if "clutch" exists, but if it does, then why do people believe Jeter is better?

This article seems to dispel this myth, but it persists:

http://sportszilla.blogspot.com/2006/06/derek-and-alexs-mythical-journey.html

Do people just want to believe Jeter is more clutch because they don't like Alex, or are they just too dumb to look at the numbers? Alex has, by far, the better career numbers in "clutch" situations, so why doesn't he get the credit given to Jeter, who actually doesn't perform all that well most of the time in the clutch?

I mean damn just cause you have a high payroll doesnt mean you are going to win, so all the winers who complain YANKEES BUY CHAMPIONSHIPS should start to shut up cause obviously they havent watched baseball the last 5 years.

I went to the stadium to see the game and it was the best professional game I have ever seen!!! I give the game ball to Scott Rolen for his hustle and turned a single into a two run in the park home run to tie!!!! Seemed to me alot of the players didn't hustle which was a little dissapointing. Jaques Jones missed a ball that went all the way back to the wall and it seemed almost like he was jogging. It also seemed like there were balls that could've been caught with a little hustle but were'nt. If I was out there, I would lay it on the line and give 1000%. These guys did'nt want to get their uniforms dirty. With the exception of Rolen who really won the game for them, the walk off grand slam was an excellent finish to the tied in the bottom of the 9th ballgame with two outs!

In my opinion Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio should easily make the hall of fame...Bagwell has done so many great things for the Astros organization and biggio is the only player to ever make the all-star game as a catcher and a second baseman but will they make the hall?

When Cliff Floyd returns to the lineup from being on the disabled list, the Mets front office has said that they will certainly return Cliff to his position and bench Endy. What's your opinion? Should the Mets take care of Cliff? Or should the Mets let Endy play?

This is a great problem to have.
