arod

I think A-rod’s Physical abilities are unmatched by anyone in the sports, he can hit for average and power and can field as well. That being said I think Jeter is a better player. Jeter does all the things that make him a complete player. Along with the hitting and fielding, he is the first guy to talk to his teammate when they make an error, or the first to congratulate a player for getting a career milestone. He’s may not be the guy that hits the game winning homerun but he is the guy that starts the 2 out rally with a base hit and scores from first on a single down the line. In addition, the fact that Jeter has never not made the playoffs in his career speaks volumes of the man.

JETER BY FAR!!! A-rod is bad this year... most errors commited by a third baseman in the AL... he went 0-10 in the series against the angels and 7 of those at bats were strikeouts...Jeter is the captain and there is a reason cause if arod was better he would be captein.. BUT HE SUCKS!!!

Actually the better all around player is Alex. But given a choice between the two, I would take Derek Jeter hands down. Jeter brings the intangible to the game. He just seems to make great play after great play. That's why he's the Captain.

Jeter..hands down (this year anyhow). He hits consistently, doesn't strike out 3-4 times a game and doesn't make an error every other play. He's a gamer while a-rod can't handle the pressure of the post season, big games and playing for NY...that should cover all the bases.

There is really no comparison. A-Rod is clearly the better player and, although Jeter is a very good player, he is perhaps the most overrated player of all time. People always describe him as "having intangibles" and "doing the little things" and "being a winner" - they have to do this to justify calling him great when his stats just don't compare to other great players.

This is gonna sound weird.

There can really be little doubt that A-Rod is the greater player. The stats bear this out. But if I had to choose one and only one to be on my team, I'd pick Jeter for all the other things he brings to the table besides gaudy statistics.

Better Talent goes to alex but who id rather have with yankees down in the 9th and a runner in scoring position is Jeter because hes clutch all around the baseball field. Thats why he deserves the MVP because ortiz can only get it done clutch one way.

O man, Jeter by far. He is a leader. And I'm not saying Jeter because A-Rod sucks this year.
