Hard to have one good answer. With wood bats, you can't go wrong with a Louisville Slugger. They have been the best for years. Most big leaguers swing Louisville's. The most popular models are the C271 and M110. If you swing aluminum mainly and are thinking of giving wood a shot, try the C271. They are lighter than the other models for their length.
Lately it seems that Mizuno is making a good bat with competive prices. Don't waste time/money on those Maple bats that cost $80. If you hit a ball off the hands with any bat it's going to break.
Aluminum Bats, I would go for either and Easton or Louisville (TPX line of bats.)
Gloves, I'd go for Wilson, Rawlings. They seem to last longest. No matter what you do, if you are looking for anything that you want to last, Do Not Buy Nike! You're paying for the swoosh and not quality. Especially in the gloves and bats.

Right now, I use a Sam Bat which is made from Maple. For batting gloves, you can't go wrong with Nike's Dri-Fit batting gloves. Super comfortable and stylish as well...

Rawlings gloves are the very best. Easton makes the best bats though.

I have a Nike glove and it works great! when you first get a glove you know that it is stiff. so, what i do is put a ball in it and just sit on it so it gets loosend up. Theres also some spray stuff for it to do the same. Hope i helped! This is worth 10 points.
