Yeah, they are certainly not playing like a playoff contention team...
WIth the Yankees losses, you'd figure that'll be motivation for them to play better....
As I said in earlier questions, I think they're season depended on how they fared against the Yankees last week at Fenway.
They blew it, and now with each day, they expect to make up a game in the wild-card standings. The days are gonna run out, and they're going to fall short.

All teams have good & bad streaks. (The Sox just happen to be extending theirs a little too long) Nonetheless, there are still a good number of games left to play. I was in Seattle this past weekend to watch the Mariner Massacer (sp?) of the Yankees and the Sox. Yes the Sox lost, but they were still great games.

The Red Flops are officially in the crash-and-burn mode (have been ever since they lost five to TB & KC). But we're used to this from our 86 thankless seasons between 1918 and 2004.
