I know it's the closer. I just need your help in shutting up a co-worker who ridiculously believes the DH is more important.

I was just going through baseball stats and noticed Manny's career stat line that read like this:

.316 Avg, 2049 Hits, 435 Doubles, 467 HR's, 1505 RBI's, .410 OBP and .601 Slugging.

Do you think he'll reach a career stat line of : .300+ Avg, 3000 Hits, 500 Doubles, 500 HR's and 2,000 RBI's

Would he be the first player ever to reach these stats??

If anyone says Nolan Ryan, you better back it up with something better than no-hitters and strikeouts. Do you realize how many batters he walked and how many games he lost?

I am biased because I love the white sox but I was wondering if anyone thought there was a better line up then:

Thome, Konerko, Dye

I know his numbers at the plate are decent but there not A-Rod numbers. Joe Crede has better numbers. And A-Rod's fielding...thats another story

The Tigers have a comfortable 8 1/2 game lead.

Is it more critical for the white sox to win, or for The Tigers to win?

Even if the white sox swept The Tigers (wont happen) they would still lead "the world champions" by 5 1/2 games.

Not bad considering The Tigers were 2 1/2 up at the ASB.

Every August I stop watching the Red Sox because they can't beat anybody. Why is it that way every year? Am I missing something?

Has our patience finally paid off? Has this long dry spell ended? I remember the roar of '84 AND the '67 Series. Anybody else out there?

As a Met fan, I naturally don't understand Yankee fans. What does A-Rod have to do in order to gain the favor of the fans? Give the man a break, all he's done is put of herculian numbers and win an MVP award. Not to mention that after all this abuse he'll probably go into the HOF in a Yankee Cap. Mussina hasn't won a World Series or a Cy Young award in a Yankee uniform, yet all of you kiss his feet. Has anyone thought that booing him only causes him to make these errors?

Its obviously Omar Vizquel of the giants. He leads the league in defense at his position and batting ( .316)

My catcher's mitt does not have the greatest padding and if you catch it in the wrong spot it stings like crazy even when I put on my batting glove underneath. My hand was swollen after playing the other day. I would like to know if MLB models are better padded or if the catcher puts extra pads in the mitt. What do they do to reduce the stinging of catching the pitcher?
