I hope you beat the crap out of the White Sox, the Yankees could not do it, all my reliance is going to your Tigers Georgie, we need them to lose so that the Red Sox have a better chance at getting that wildcard, it would be nice if we started winning though.

I think it's a monster weekend for the Tigers. They have a chance to really bury the White Sox. A Tigers sweep and the division is history. The Yankees should have swept the Sox but basically handed the Sox two out of three. I don't think this will happen with the Tigers. They are prime for this series and I think this will be the changing of the guard this weekend. I'm not even sure the White Sox are the favorite for the wild card anymore.

It's definitely more critical for the White Sox to win this series. With roughly 15 series of games left now for everyone, Chicago would need to make up at least a half-game every series to pull even, or more realistically over a game a week. The best chance to do that is head-to-head, and there are 10 meetings left, 6 of which are in Chicago.
For Chicago, they need to take 2 of 3 and preferably sweep (don't think it can't happen, Georgie; it can). Detroit can put the division away with a sweep and put the Sox in serious jeopardy by taking 2 of the 3, but anything short of getting swept helps Detroit, as in a sense "the clock is ticking." Detroit gets a little boost at the beginning of the series, as they had yesterday off while the Sox went late into the night to beat the Yankees.
I'm fully expecting Chicago to take 2 of the 3, winning tonight and Sunday, and losing with Buehrle on Saturday (unless Ozzie sat him down and smacked the s**t out of him to figure out what's wrong with him). Also will be interesting to see if Uribe comes back, as he's been day-to-day for a while now, with Cintron playing well at SS replacing him.
But, then again, what do I know, I'm just the biggest prick here. All I know is the team I cheer for, the World Champions, didn't get swept by Kansas City, or lose 2 of 3 to Tampa Bay. I would be all RED with shame if my team SUX that bad.

This series is HUGE, and that's an understatement. The White Sox need all 3 games. And not because of trying to catch the Tigers (that will take an incredible August/September run), but to battle with the Yankees for the Wild Card chase. I'd put the Twins in this category (Liriano likely lost for the year) and also the Red Sox (weak starting pitching) but neither is likely to have the horses to survive when all is said and done.

Its huge for detroit even though i'm a Sox fan. I think they might be starting their slide and if the Sox can rip off 8-9 wins in a row, they can be right back on the tigers a$$.

I think that the Tigers must continue to win against the elite teams in the American League. This next road trip should tell us how they will do in the playoffs. There is no doubt they will make it. I think that their pitching staff is too deep, especially with Mike Maroth coming back, to fall off that much. The White Sox aren't my biggest concern though. That goes to the Twins.

Not that important to the Tigers ... they hold the best lead in baseball after the Mets and well, quite actually they're better than the ChiSox .... The Tigers to my opinion will be in the WS with the Mets .... Who wins?? ... doesn't really matter ... they are the best of each league and can't really ask for more!!!

This is a huge weekend for the Tigers. We may see if they're really as good as their record says they are (even though the Sox clearly aren't as good as everyone was saying earlier this year.)
