I think you guys are out of your @#$#'en minds. Alex Rodriguez is already among the top five SS's ever. He will retire with numbers that look like a first baseman's. Look around him on the list of all-time leaders in OPS+, and you will find right fielders, left fielders, and first basemen. He plays every day, and he plays well. He is the best player on a great Yankers team, and he will retire with the homerun crown barring injury.

He's 30 years old, and he already has 450 homers and 2,000 hits. If he continues to play into his late 30s, he should retire with about 3,500 hits and the home run crown. He also has two Gold Gloves, 2 MVP awards, and 8 Silver Slugger awards, and a batting title.

If you check his comps, you'll see names like Jimmie Foxx, Frank Robinson, Mel Ott, and Mickey Mantle, guys who are legends of the game. It's difficult to think of someone as overrated when their numbers are comparable to those guys.

Is Arod reviled by some? Yes. Is he overpaid? Probably, but nobody forced Hicks to lay $252 million on the table, so that's not Arod's fault. But overrated? You can't be among the top players in the game - which he is - and be overrated.

A-Rod is the best all-around player in the game, period. Thats why you either love him or hate him.

As far as the pay issue goes, aren't ALL professional ball players overpaid? On the other hand, They deserve their fair share of the revenues they are responsible for bringing in.

he's only over rated because of his contract...nobody can live up to a 252 million dollar contract. he's a great player and is on pace to break hank aarons 755 hr record and pete roses hit record. If he wa sgetting paid 12 million a year. then no he would not be called over rated

I think A-Rod's a great player. Maybe a tad overrated but not very much so.

On the yankee's...yes.. He should be on a mediocre team where ego's aren't a problem to lift those players that aren't as good perform better.

No one is worth as much as he's getting paid.. it's a sin that they get paid that much.

He's paid way too much and people say that he has a chance to be the best player of all time, which just isn't true
